Experience medicine arranges personalised medical work experience placements in a variety of clinical and non clinical setting such as GPs, hospitals nursing homes, community teams and ambulance service to name a few. This gives the candidate a varied exposure to medicine while reducing the burden on medical facilities to provide long placement blocks.
Candidates are hosted by experienced clinicians, learning how to conduct in depth medical assessments for common acute and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy and heart disease and how they are treated
Candidates also have the opportunity to spend time with members of the multi disciplinary team such as nurses who do the majority of child immunisations, specialist diabetic reviews and asthma reviews.
Candidates have the opportunity to liaise with medical students within the institutions about their experiences and the chance to attend a teaching events.
